All of us go through difficult times at various points in our lives, but we don’t have to do it alone. Even the simple act of having someone in a nonjudgmental, safe environment listen to and really hear your struggles can be a huge help toward fixing whatever feels broken, getting back on the track you want to be on, or finding ways to cope and heal. I have worked with a wide variety of issues that many people experience, including depression, anxiety, substance use/addiction, attachment and trust issues, difficulty adjusting, grief, bipolar disorder, trauma/PTSD, anger management, codependency, and so forth. I understand that it can be difficult to open up to and trust a stranger with your biggest challenges, but once you take that leap you’ll find just how worthwhile it is. Take comfort in the fact that you’re already taking the first step in searching out a therapist!
No one exists in isolation, and no relationship is perfect. Everything one person does in a relationship affects the other person, and therefore couples therapy is an incredibly helpful way to get the system of a marriage or partnership to run more smoothly, fix the kinks, and create more joy for those involved. Many couples struggle with things such as communication barriers, trust and attachment issues, infidelity, intimacy challenges, parenting and co-parenting. Our primary relationships can be one of the biggest sources of joy in our lives, and many times that may just take a little re-working to get communication, connectivity, and intimacy to a place that brings more satisfaction to the lives of both partners. I’m committed to helping you achieve this, even when it may feel impossible to you while in the midst of it. When both members of the couple can be heard and validated in an environment where the third party does not take sides, safety and trust can be present and assist in the process of resolving the issue, at whatever level it may be.
Families can be such a boon and such a joy, yet sometimes they also come with struggles that can become confusing and challenging to navigate. Whether your family is struggling with the inherent challenges of blending families or with increasingly independence-driven teenagers, separation or divorce (especially with children involved), behavioral problems, grief or loss, among many other types of issues facing families, family therapy can be a huge help to getting everyone on the same page and bringing harmony back to your home. I am here to help family members each be heard and understood, and to work together to find solutions to whatever challenge they may be facing. Every member of a family has their own strengths to bring to the table, and I can help bring those out in a way that assists in moving you forward and helping families achieve their goals. Kind of like not being able to see the forest for the trees, I can be that person whose perspective is the forest, and help you navigate those trees!
